Loreto Aprutino – Abruzzo
Loreto Aprutino is the theatre of my viticultural and oenological training for over ten years. I call it “Little California” because it is characterized by a very mild climate during all seasons, dry with many clear days. Hills with very pronounced slopes, clay and limestone soils are the identity card of this small paradise suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the foot of the Gran Sasso mountain range, the so-called “Sleeping Beauty”. At Ciavolich Estate, since 2010, I have been working on a viticultural and oenological heritage of long tradition, combining it with a pragmatic approach to vineyard management and completing the work with various scientific experimentation conducted in the field with the collaboration of passionate students of Enology of the University of Teramo.
